On March 16, it was announced that seniors Darin Olver, Pat Bateman, Dusty Collins and Rob Lehtinen signed pro contracts. The four former NMU players skipped town to play more hockey and begin their professional hockey careers–three in the American Hockey League (AHL). Darin signed with the Hartford Wolfpack; Pat was signed by the Milwaukee Admirals; and Dusty was signed by the Springfield Falcons.  Rob signed with the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL, and the  city where the famous movie Slapshot took place.
