The 2006-07 Wildcat Hockey Schedule was recently released by the NMU Athletic Department. The schedule includes 36 regular season games, plus two exhibition games. The Cats will open the season on October 6 & 7 with a “Home” series in Green Bay against defending National Champion Wisconsin Badgers. The Cats will once again play arch-rival Michigan Tech in a home and home series the following weekend. There will be no Christmas tournaments this season, but the Cats will travel to Omaha, Nebraska on October 20 & 21 to compete in the Stampede Tournament. Minnesota-Duluth is finally back on the schedule. The Cats will face the Bulldogs in a unique home and home series at each school’s respective rink on two Wednesday nights in November and January. Overall, it looks like a strong schedule with a good non-conference slate to help the Cats in the daunted “Pairwise” system.
